Sand Lines reflects on the journey of the United Arab Emirates from desert past to imagined futures. Its textured surface carries the presence of sand, a reminder of a time when the desert defined daily life. Across it run deep linear patterns, like the first roads that cut through the dunes and connected communities once separated by distance. These are the same lines that carry the story forward — linking heritage, ambition, and transformation in equal measure.
The piece is both memory and momentum. It honours the landscapes of yesterday while holding space for what is yet to come. In its form, Sand Lines captures the rhythm of a nation in constant motion, where each generation leaves its own mark and builds on the lines already drawn.
This piece is part of a collector's edition of vases, each created as a on-of-a-kind work for the upcoming Terra and Tuba Exhibition.
